1% for the Planet is a global organization that exists to ensure our planet and future generations thrive. It inspires businesses and individuals to support environmental nonprofits through membership and everyday actions. It makes environmental giving easy and effective through partnership advising, impact storytelling and third-party certification.
Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, its members have given more than $280 million to approved nonprofit partners to date. Today, 1% for the Planet’s global network consists of thousands of businesses, individuals and environmental nonprofits working toward a better future for all.
Joining the 1% for the Planet movement shows once again, that even though we are small, we can do big things. Our goal is to do our part to create a healthier and more dignified planet for all. We invite all companies to reflect on their impact and how they can improve it, and for individuals, to think in plural, about our only home, our precious blue planet, and to do their part, because any and all acts are important and necessary.
This big new step for us, and along with the great pride of belonging to the B Corp community, allows us to shout even louder the urgent need for change.
