Batman paid us a visit last night and together we made our terrifying jack-o’-lanterns!
We love celebrating Halloween, carving pumpkins at home, dressing up, roasting pumpkin seeds, and watching how the pumpkins come to life in the dark is very exciting for the kids.
Just follow these very easy steps:
-First draw a circle on the top of the pumpkin and cut along the line and remove the stem, and scrape out the inside as much as possible.
-Save the seeds for later.
-Draw the face or design on the pumpkin using a marker or use stickers. Although we always end up using our imagination and creating our own designs, but here we have little Batman having fun with eye, mouth, and scar stickers…
After drawing the face or applying the stickers, cut out the shapes following the lines, carefully and with adult supervision. Use a sharp paring knife or a specific carving tool.
We’re all set! Our jack-o’-lanterns are ready to scare, just place a small tea candle inside and turn off the lights! What about yours?
While the kids have fun with their bags of candy, the adults can roast the pumpkin seeds, start by washing the seeds until they are clean of any pumpkin pulp.
Dry them well, and place them on a non-stick baking sheet. We add our Delicious & Sons touch by coating the seeds with a spoonful of our Organic Aioli with Basil & Lemon (buy here!). Once coated, roast in the oven at 375ºF for 10-12 minutes until golden.
Happy Halloween!
